Precision Diagnostics in Flatiron, NYC: Your Gateway to Health

Your smile is just one part of the story. Through precision diagnostics, comprehensive imaging, and your personalized Oral Health Blueprint, the SAMA Oral Health team and Dr. Randhawa uncover the complete picture of your oral health to help you make informed decisions for a healthier future.

The First Step Toward Better Oral and Overall Health

Long before a physician orders bloodwork, your mouth is often already telling a story. At SAMA Oral Health, we treat it that way, as one of the most accessible, information-rich windows the body offers into its own health, not a system to be maintained on its own schedule and forgotten between visits. The Gateway to Health Visit is our comprehensive new patient experience, built to read that story in full, using precision diagnostics and thorough clinical evaluation to see well beyond what a routine exam ever could.

This is prevention-focused, whole-health dentistry. Bleeding gums can signal cardiovascular risk. Bone loss can point toward deeper systemic conditions. The bacterial ecosystem in your mouth can predict problems long before symptoms appear. We built the Gateway to Health Visit around the conviction that narrowing the gap between guessing and knowing changes everything about the care that follows, so we start with data, not assumption.

Every visit concludes with your Oral Health Blueprint. This is a personalized roadmap that translates your diagnostic findings into a clear, prioritized plan for your oral and overall health. Ready to see the complete picture? Schedule your Gateway to Health Visit online or give us a call at (212) 575-7740! We’d love to welcome you in.

What Is the Gateway to Health?

Advanced Technology. Better Answers. Smarter Care.
The Gateway to Health Visit is SAMA’s signature new patient evaluation, a single appointment that brings together advanced imaging, salivary and microbial diagnostics, and a whole-health conversation to answer the questions a standard exam was never designed to ask. Instead of surface-level observations, we use precision diagnostic tools to look beneath the enamel: at bone structure, airway function, jaw mechanics, gum health, and the bacterial ecosystem driving your individual risk.
Each component of the visit serves a purpose. Three-dimensional CBCT imaging reveals the full architecture of the jaw, roots, and airway in a single scan. A periodontal evaluation, paired with salivary diagnostics, tells us how your gum tissue and supporting bone are holding up over time, often before you feel a thing. A bite and airway assessment can uncover patterns, clenching, grinding, and restricted breathing that patients rarely realize are affecting their sleep, headaches, or long-term tooth wear. Together, these evaluations provide insight that enables our clinical teams to make recommendations rooted in evidence, not assumption.

Precision Diagnostics Available at SAMA

A Deeper Look at Your Oral Health, Powered by Precision

Comprehensive Oral Examination

A, whole-mouth evaluation of the teeth, gums, bite, and soft tissue, forming the clinical foundation of the visit and identifying areas warranting further diagnostic evaluation.

Wellness Scan

A comprehensive clinical assessment encompassing bite analysis, gum health, and wear patterns across the dentition, establishing a precise baseline from which every subsequent recommendation is developed.

Digital X-Rays

Low-radiation digital imaging providing a detailed view of the teeth and supporting bone structure, enabling early detection of decay, bone loss, and structural concerns.

CBCT 3D Imaging

Cone Beam CT technology generates a three-dimensional map of the teeth, jaw, and airway within a single scan, revealing detail beyond the capability of conventional radiography, including underlying infection, bone density variation, and airway restriction.

Intraoral Photography

High-resolution clinical photography of the teeth and gums, providing a precise visual record and supporting informed discussion of findings.

Salivary Diagnostics

A comprehensive molecular analysis of the oral microbiome, evaluating bacterial composition and risk for periodontal disease and caries, inflammatory markers, and the health of gum tissue and supporting bone. This assessment includes aMMP-8 testing and salivary pH measurement, alongside a review of relevant systemic lab values, with particular attention to Vitamin D given its established role in periodontal healing.

Cavity Detection

DIAGNOdent Laser fluorescence, Digital Radiography & AI-Assisted Analysis technology identifies and stages early-stage decay with a level of precision beyond visual examination or conventional film, cross-referenced against digital radiography for enhanced diagnostic accuracy.

TMJ & Jaw Function Assessment

A clinical evaluation of the jaw joint and surrounding musculature, identifying tension, misalignment, or dysfunction that may underlie chronic headaches, jaw discomfort, or joint irregularities.

Airway & Sleep Health Screening

An assessment of anatomical indicators associated with restricted airflow, informing broader considerations of sleep quality, cardiovascular health, and cognitive function. Airway screening is incorporated into every comprehensive evaluation.

Oral Cancer Screening (VELscope)

A thorough clinical examination of the oral cavity and surrounding tissue, enhanced by VELscope fluorescence technology at every comprehensive visit in support of early detection.

Existing Restorations Review

A detailed evaluation of existing fillings, crowns, and dental work, identifying restorations approaching the end of their functional lifespan.

Smile & Facial Esthetic Evaluation

A professional assessment of facial harmony and smile esthetics, offered as part of a personalized consultation for patients pursuing cosmetic refinement.

Premiere Guided Biofilm Therapy Cleaning

A precision cleaning protocol beginning with plaque analysis to identify areas of bacterial biofilm accumulation, followed by treatment using air, warm water, and fine powder in place of conventional scaling. Ozone therapy is integrated into the protocol to further reduce bacterial load. The result is a markedly gentler process, less abrasive to enamel and gingival tissue, while achieving superior removal of bacterial buildup.

Nutrition & Lifestyle Recommendations

Evidence-based guidance connecting dietary and lifestyle factors to clinical findings, supporting healing, tissue repair, and long-term oral health beyond the scope of a single visit.

Customized Oral Care Products

A curated home care regimen selected specifically for the patient’s clinical profile, drawn exclusively from products vetted for efficacy.

Personalized Oral Health Blueprint

A comprehensive, individualized roadmap synthesizing every diagnostic finding into prioritized recommendations, preventive strategies, and a long-term plan for oral and systemic health.

Why Choose SAMA for Your Gateway to Health Visit?

Where Advanced Dentistry Meets Whole-Body Wellness

Whole-Body Philosophy

The mouth is one of the leading sources of chronic inflammation in the body, and periodontal disease sits at the center of that picture; research links it to poorly controlled diabetes, elevated cardiovascular and stroke risk, and a nearly 70% increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease. At SAMA, we do not view the mouth as separate from the rest of the body; we view it as a gateway to it.
Our holistic, biological approach considers the materials we use, the systems we support, and the whole patient in front of us, not treatment in isolation. This prevention-first philosophy means we invest time understanding the complete picture before ever recommending treatment, coordinating with primary care physicians, functional medicine practitioners, and other specialists when a finding warrants a broader conversation.
Every new patient relationship at SAMA begins with data rather than assumption. From CBCT imaging and salivary microbiome testing to DIAGNOdent laser fluorescence and VELscope oral cancer screening, our diagnostic tools are chosen because they narrow the gap between guessing and knowing. Better diagnostics mean earlier detection, more informed decisions, and evidence-based outcomes, often catching what would otherwise go unnoticed until it surfaces elsewhere in the body.
Dr. Randhawa began her path into integrative dentistry not in a dental office but in HIV research, where she first studied the oral manifestations of the disease and saw firsthand how closely mouth and body are connected. In dental school, she co-founded an integrative nonprofit clinic uniting dental and medical students, physicians, ENTs, nutritionists, and social workers around comprehensive care, a philosophy that has shaped her practice ever since.
She went on to serve as an HRSA Oral Health Fellow and earn an additional degree in public health from Columbia University. A leading clinician with more than 12 years of practice, she has been named among the 40 Under 40 Best Dentists in the United States and has served as a clean beauty judge for Cosmopolitan. She remains a lifelong learner, engaging in ongoing continuing education, and is an active leader in organized dentistry and a teacher within the profession.
Today, she approaches dentistry as a lifelong partnership in her patients’ wellness, not a series of isolated procedures, taking the time to explain what she sees and why it matters so patients leave every visit informed, not just treated.
Dental anxiety is a real physiological response, and SAMA has been designed with that in mind, an environment the press has described as an oral oasis. Essential oil aromatherapy, massage chairs, collagen eye masks, noise-canceling headphones, your favorite movies and television shows, and an on-site infrared sauna are all part of the experience, not incidental touches. We do not rush evaluations or conversations; good care takes the time it takes, and a calm nervous system changes how you experience everything that follows.

What our clients say

When was the last time you heard someone brag about their dentist? Well buckle up – I have a lot to say.

SAMA Oral Health is truly the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Their beautiful & peaceful NYC studio (honestly, a spa) is just the beginning.

As someone passionate about wellness, I love how Dr. Jaskaren and her team put oral wellness first, while using the most advanced tools (like the GBT cleaning machine, which left my teeth feeling insanely clean).

Everyone from Dani at the front to Brianna (the hygienist — ask her about her most recent travels!), to Kayla and Merssy, is kind, professional, and makes you feel totally at ease. It’s rare to find a dental office that feels this chic, relaxing, and high-tech at the same time. I highly recommend SAMA!

–  Rachel W.

Truly appreciate Dr. Randhawa and the entire SAMA health team for quickly getting me for a dental emergency. Everyone there was incredibly concerned for me with my accident, made sure I was taken care, and helped with recommendations for pain gel along with mouth wash to ensure I am as comfortable as possible during the healing the process. I would highly recommend the office as the staff is phenomenal and truly cares for patient wellbeing!

– Erin M.

SAMA is the nicest dentist office I have ever been to. It is clean, beautiful, and has very high tech equipment to optimize your dental care. I’ve been going to Dr. Randhawa for years and my oral health has never been better. Her, the hygienists, and rest of the staff are sweet, caring, and make the whole experience as painful as seamless as possible. I’m very grateful for the time, work, and support that the whole team has given me throughout the years.

– Jessica I.

Literally the best dental experience I’ve ever had. Dr. Randhawa and her team was so knowledgeable and made me feel right at ease. Also, the office is STUNNING!

– Sophia V.

One of the things I appreciate most about SAMA is how they prioritize the entire patient experience, not just dental care. From the moment you walk in, you can tell they’ve thought through every detail to make the experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible. The office is beautiful and calming, the technology is top-tier, and the team goes out of their way to make you feel cared for. It’s clear that their goal isn’t just great dentistry, but a truly positive and personalized experience. I can’t recommend them enough!

– Riley R.
